Description

Messier 58 (M58, NGC 4579) is a barred spiral galaxy located in the constellation Virgo. It is approximately 68 million light years from Earth. It has the common bright core, yellow with older stars, surrounded by arms with newer, bluer, stars.

Date: Feb 23-Mar 18 2020

Location: Blue Mountain Vista Observatories,New Ringgold PA

Optics: Celestron EdgeHD 1100 on Paramount MX

Camera: Sbig STL-11000 for RGB

Optics: Starizona Hyperion f/8 12.5 inch, FL 2540 mm on Paramount ME

Camera: Apogee U8300 for Lum

Guiding: ST-402 on Innovations Foresight On-Axis Guider and STL-11000 Self guiding

Exposure: LRGB: L:31x10 R:20x10 min, G:20x10 min, B:20x10 min for a total of 15.17 hrs (91 subs at avg of 600 sec) RGB bin 2

Processing: Image acquisition using CCD Autopilot. Initial processing was done using Maxim DL with subsequent processing with Photoshop.
